While the car must have been in quite good shape when it went from Monaco to Holland, the dutch owner used it for winter rallyes like the Monte Carlo Challenge and similar. The car suffered two bad crashes and was quite rusty due to regular winter operation. From mechanical point of view the engine was quite worn out, but every mechanical detail was with the car, so it still had its original mechanical equipment incl. 812-00 engine (hotted up with original 1296 ccm kit with the typical plateau-camshaft, called "patate" in France), the BV353 5-speed transaxle and all those interesting details that make a Renault 8 Gordini a genuine Renault 8 Gordini.
In the meantime, the body has been repaired - but it still is no real beauty - and the entire mechanics have been overhauled. From mechanical point of view the car is in perfect shape today. It runs excellent and is a lot of fun to drive with.
This is what the car looks like at the moment.
